This is the technical status page of combahton GmbH which represents past incidents and planned maintenances.
We will integrate AS212708 (Globe Datacenter B.V.) into our network in Frankfurt, therefore we will start sending prefixes through AS212708 for traffic originated mainly in Amsterdam. Traffic is locally ddos-filtered in Denhelder, near Amsterdam and traverses back into our network over fiber lines from Amsterdam to Frankfurt. This adds another few hundred gigabit anti-ddos capacity to our network in Frankfurt. The DDoS-Protection in Den Helder is identical to Frankfurt and uses also our flowShield appliance.
You can use BGP Community 30823:3825X to either prepend or exclude upstream via AS212708. 1-3 stands for prepends (e.g. 3 = prepend three times) or 0 to exclude announcements over AS212708. Please note upon prepending, anti-ddos capacity might be less than advertised, we dont recommend setting the bgp community out of context.
Following the previous maintenance last week, we will move the routing of Core-Backbone traffic from the current to the new infrastructure and take additional antiddos capacity in operation.
As the physical links has been already moved, this involves removing the routing from the current router and turning it up on the new equipment. Maintenance will be carried out on 28th July starting at 00:00 am (CEST).
We expect a total maintenance window of 60 minutes. In order to avoid any impact to our network operation, we will shutdown the bgp sessions in a controlled way - traffic will be rerouted to other carriers. Customers might see slightly decreased or increased latency, no impact is expected.
Update 28.07.2021 - 01:12 (CEST): Unfortunately, we couldnt finish the migration of the routing on the new equipment. During the migration, we noticed a unexpected behavior in vrf traffic handling on the /24 prefix used for testing. Due to the risk of potential service impact, we decided to stop the migration, rolled back the configuration of the current equipment and switched over traffic. We will implement changes within the next days, together with a new maintenance announcement. During todays migration window, no service degradation occured - all involved work was done smoothly and without any impact.
Update 30.07.2021 - 10:08 (CEST): We will carry out necessary cabling by today and conduct maintenance tomorrow at 10:00 till 11:00 am. During the maintenance window, traffic will be switched over to RETN and Globe Datacenter.
Update 31.07.2021 - 11:04 (CEST): Maintenance has been completed successfully. We will continue monitoring the equipment and shift ddos-filter capacity back on this router.
In the week of 2th - 6th August, we start peering at DATA-IX / Global-IX in Frankfurt. No customer impact is expected, feel free to contact us if you face unexpectedly high latency or unfortunate paths.
Update 03.08.2021 - 11:29: Port put in production, Data-IX Peering live. Global-IX going to follow shortly.
We have been informed by Core-Backbone about a maintenance happening on 5th August 2021, starting at 00:00 am (CEST):

We will shut down our bgp sessions with AS33891 in a controlled manner before the maintenance starts. No customer impact is expected.
On 9th August 2021 between 00:00 - 01:00 am, we will conduct maintenance, to change the inbound routing behavior of the RETN upstream as well as KleyReX Frankfurt. During the maintenance window, both links will be shut down in a controlled manner. Customers might experience slightly increased or decreased latency during the maintenance window. We do not expect any impact to our services.
On 6th September, 04:00-05:00 am (CEST), we will carry out network maintenance on our routing equipment at Skylink Datacenter. Customers with connectivity to this router might experience a maximum downtime of one hour. We expect maintenance work to finish within 30 minutes.
